HUNGRY CREATORS One Year Anniversary

Hello, hello fellow artist, writers, and other masters of expression. One year ago this month I and my three other co-founders came together seeking an alternative to the way in which art, concept, and creativity is commoditized and sold today. From there we founded the Hungry Creators mission statement placing value on friendship and substantial content over the massed produced and faltering spectacles forced upon so many aspects of our lives. In one year’s time Hungry Creators has remained true to that mission state as well as our founding ideals.

It has been a long year with many exciting achievements and activities; some received well and others works in progress. In a short recap of the year, Hungry Creators introduced itself to the world in the early weeks of September 2010. After establishing our web presence, Hungry Creators announced the launch of the beginning homemade crafts that made up the basis of Hungry Creator’s product lines. We first started in small arts and craft booths promoting the first brain children of our creative efforts. Definitely small, the very first products displayed at our booths included: nerdy netbook cases, hand stitched sock dolls, hair clips, and homemade wallets. Towards the end of the year we attended Las Vegas Supercon meeting and forming lasting bonds with several other artist of the Las Vegas community. With that small networking Hungry Creators was officially born.

At the beginning of 2011, we launched the opening of our online store. Now those same homemade crafts only found at the convention shows we attended became available for sale on the internet almost overnight. Also during the early portion of the year, the Hungry Services launched offerings of many creative services also available online. We took in editorial jobs, caricaturing, and face painting contracts just to name a few. In addition we were also contracted to provide a personal wedding gift, a custom made sock doll of the bride and groom.

Overall the business done since our founding pales in the hopes and creative lines we have envisioned for the future, and believe me the best is yet to come. In the near future we plan to reintroduce the homemade wallets, and sock doll lines with branded features that will revolutionized these products and their appeal. In addition, Hungry Creators plans to throw all our resources and support behind the release of an original comic book by co-founder Jean Pilario as well the release of a debut full length novel published under the Hungry Creators name, and a planned array of t-shirt design.

With everything in consideration it was an amazing first year with only bigger and better things to come. For all those who helped throughout the year, we give an most sincere thank you. For everyone else that has yet to experience our brand of artist vision, I say just wait, and try art on our terms.  I think it gives everyone a reason to stay hungry for years to come.

About Hungry Creators

Hungry Creators was manifested out of a need for friendship first before business. This group is where our ideas come to life to be shared with the world. At the end of the day, our greatest profit is not the money we serve to gain but the emotions we evoke by a new piece of art. We are not afraid of reinvention because we welcome all the possibilities art has to offer. In today’s world we believe art is so much more than a leisurely activity, or success stems from more forms than a business or technical degree. Hungry Creators challenges the norm tempering the talents we foster within ourselves to excel. We stand in solidarity with the time and efforts all artists and handmade craft designers do in order for art to stay authentic and alive. Today many forget the process of the things that sit on shelves in stores. We are about creating unique items in a world where most things are mass produced. Hungry Creators scratches the surface of a whole hardworking and dedicated community. We recognize the desire for art and hope that through meeting us, you get real hungry for it too.
